Most people welcome a dog in to their home with the intent on keeping the dog for his or her whole life, however, we at TBIN understand that there are many reasons that require guardians to surrender their canine companions. If you are no longer able to care for your toy breed dog, entrusting him/her to rescue is truly the best thing you can do to ensure that s/he receives all necessary care and that an appropriate forever home is found. Once TBIN commits to a dog, we stand behind that dog for life. We work tirelessly for the dogs in our charge to ensure that their physical, mental, and emotional needs are met during their stay in foster care, and long after they are placed with an adoptive family.
TBIN accepts Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles, Pugs, Shih Tzus, English Toy Spaniels, Maltese, Japanese Chin, Papillons, Pekingese, Pomeranians, Cavalier King Charles, as well as other toy breeds. TBIN does accept toy breed mixes weighing less than fifteen pounds.
Please note that TBIN is a small organization with a limited number of foster homes. If we do not have room to accommodate your dog, we will work with you to try and find a reputable rescue that is able to assist you. The information you provide will aid us in selecting the most appropriate foster home, and ultimately forever home for your dog. It will also help ease their transition from your home, to our care. The more detailed information you provide, the faster we will be able to assist you. You will receive a response from one of our volunteers within 48 hours of contacting us. Your information will be kept confidential and you will be treated respectfully (we ask for the same in return).
Please also note that TBIN requires that a recent picture of your dog be sent to us in order for your surrender request to be processed. If you are unable to upload a picture in the surrender form (found on this page), you may e-mail the picture to us at surrenders@toybreedsinneed.org
